Employee Claims Tab
The Employee Claims tab of the Communication center, available to people leaders who can view others’ claims, lists their claims and provides search features for looking up an employee‘s claim to initiate a conversation with the examiner.
Note: The My Claims tab displays a list of your personal claims and any messages associated with them. See the Communication Center topic for descriptions of features on this tab.
Note: You may only view messages you have initiated; you cannot see conversations between employees and their examiners.
Claims for which you have previously initiated conversations are displayed at the top of the tab. To locate a specific employee’s claim, click Select Claim and use the search features described below.
Tab Features
This tab provides two sections: Select claim and Results.
To search for a claim or employee, click Select claim.
Select claim
This view of the Employee Claims tab provides search fields for locating a specific employee’s claim, similar to the Claim search page.
To exit this view, click Return to messages or select an Action beside a claim in the search results.

Search Criteria
| Claim Number |
Allows a partial or full claim number. |
| First Name |
Two character minimum. Last Name is required when searching by First Name. |
| Last Name |
Two character minimum. |
| Employee ID |
Employer-specified identification number. |
| SSN |
Social Security number; your entry is masked as you type. To view the number, click . |
| Line of Business |
Options depend on your employer, but may include Accommodation Request, Disability, Absence, or Workers’ Compensation.
If you select Disability or Absence, additional search fields are available. Refer to the applicable section below for a list of those fields.

| Status |
Status of the claim; options are Open, Closed, or Incident. |
| Begin Date |
Filters claims that occurred or began on or after a specific date. Enter a date in MM/DD/YYYY format, or click to select the date from a calendar. |
| End Date |
Filters claims with occurred or began on or before a specific date. Enter a date in MM/DD/YYYY format, or click to select the date from a calendar. |
| Manager |
Available for those with direct reports, this feature allows you to search for and select a manager; claims displayed in search results will be limited to those for employees reporting to that manager.
Enter a full or partial manager name; matching manager names are displayed automatically. Click a name to select it.

| Include indirect reports |
Available for those with direct reports. Select this option to include those any of the specified managers’ indirect reports in search results. If no Manager is specified, your own indirect reports are included in the results. |

Select one or more disability claim types to limit your search by type. |
| Claim Substatus |
Select one or more disability claim substatus to limit your search by substatus. |
| Absence |
| Claim Type |
Select one or more absence claim types (e.g., Intermittent, Continuous) to limit your search by type. |

Select one or more absence types (e.g., Family Leave, Military) to limit your search by type. |
| Claim Substatus |
Select one or more absence claim substatus to limit your search by substatus. |
| Caused By |
Select one or more cause for the absence (disability, workers’ compensation, or other) to limit your search by cause. |

Click to view claims matching your specified criteria. |

Click to clear all criteria and search results. |
Results
Once you have entered criteria and clicked Search, matching claims are displayed. Click a claim in the list to start or view a conversation about it with the examiner.
The total number of results matching your criteria is shown above the list. If there are multiple claims, click Filter to access a search field to locate a claim by any displayed criteria.
Note: Search results are limited to a maximum of 200. If more exist, a message informs you to modify your search criteria for better results.
Sort what’s displayed by clicking the Sort by option above a list and selecting the appropriate column. The arrow indicates the direction in which rows are sorted (ascending or descending); select the column again to change the orientation.

Search Results
| Claim |
Category of claim (e.g., Short Term Disability, Workers’ Compensation) and the claim number.
Click beside a claim number to add that claim to your Watch List, or click to remove it.

| Name |
Employee‘s name. Click the link to open the Employee’s Claims page (if the employee has claims). |
| Status |
Status of the claim. |
| Date |
Date the last message for the claim was sent or received. When an unread message exists, a New icon appears next to the date. |
| Action |
If you have not previously sent a message to the examiner for a specific claim, click Start conversation to begin a conversation. Otherwise, click View conversation to see an existing conversation at the bottom of the page.
The tab returns to the previous view, displaying claims with conversations at the top and the Conversation section below. You may now type and send a message for the selected claim.
